FETISHES

I slept at 4 this morning, and just woke up twenty minutes ago.
Yes, I do intend to become a pumpkin over the holidays, or alternatively, a pig.
Or a mushroom. With loads of spores so that more people can turn into useless bums like me.
Not ENTIRELY useless [ah, now watch as I attempt to convince myself]!
I did some maths! :D [hmm. a couple of questions.]
Malay will be improved upon :D [as yet, preparations for this have hardly begun.]
OH, OH!
THIS ONE DOESN'T NEED CONVINCING.
I'VE BEEN READING AWESOME BOOKS ;D
Have I talked about my Mark Twain awesome catch yet?
Yes, Samuel Clemens.
The Diary of Adam and Eve, from an agnostic's point of view.
I was reading a little about Clemens [yes that's his real name] and I deduced that he was [KIND OF] pretty certain that a God existed, but for the life of him really couldn't be bothered to pay heed to some supernatural being who took away his daughter.
Anyway, it's most entertaining material, Twain has such a lovely style, it could almost beat Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer for me, but that the stories it describes I know pretty well already!
However!
The Bible is not a first-person account, so Twain decides that he will REWRITE Genesis in the perspectives of Adam and Eve in the first person, and what emerges is classic Twain genius :D
Evidently, he had given much thought to the gender war and so on before writing it, for these form the main themes of his book.
He still seems to fall prey to the stereotype of emotional women, though.
If I were anything like the Eve [who is supposed to represent women in general] in his book I'd sooner kill myself.
Which, of course, would be a sin.
His Adam is immensely fun.
Reclusive, wry but quietly egoistic and arrogant about his intelligence.
All these emerge in such few words, because Adam is a quiet man.
I'm not done with it yet, because [sue me!] I got a little tired of the plot, having read it before in the Bible, and introduced myself to Kiran Desai [woe, my undoing :/].
Maybe someone would hire me to review books!
You know, in newspapers, they have journalists who review books, food and movies.
Man, wish I was one of them.
Idelle :D
